Pay Range: £35,000 - £60,000 per year

The Role

Do you want to fall in love with being a vet again? If so, look no further! We are looking for a motivated general practitioner keen to practice to a high standard, whilst offering great communication and support for our clients at a lovely practice.  A full-time position is 4.5 days a week, but we would also welcome part-time applicants wanting to do 2-3 days. The role involves a good mixture of surgery and consulting but can be tailored towards strengths. We provide a welcoming and supportive working environment, a salary ranging between £35,000-£60,000 depending on experience, 5 weeks holiday, generous negotiable CPD allowance, paid memberships, accommodation if required, private health insurance provision and discounted veterinary fees.

The Practice

We are a thriving and proudly independent small animal practice based in the heart of the attractive Wiltshire market town of Devizes. Established in 1897 we are a busy and progressive small animal practice with new purpose-built air-conditioned operating facilities providing a wonderful and bright working environment including all the facilities you would expect from a first-class general practice.

We are fortunate to have a loyal, experienced and dedicated team of vets who are completing certificates in medicine, cardiology and ophthalmology; however, we also benefit from the additional support of Vet-CT teleconsulting specialists for help with more complex case work ups.

Hours

We believe a healthy work life balance is essential and the sociable practice hours reflect this with regular 5-6pm finishes and a half day a week.

We do provide an out of hours service for our own clients, the rota currently involves covering 1 in 6 weekends (with an additional day off in lieu the following week) and usually 1 weekday night per week. There is also a further 1 in 6 Saturday morning commitment. The out of hours is equally shared and would reduce with additional staff members adding to the rota.

Location

Devizes is regularly listed in the top 10 of the country’s favourite market towns with a wealth of history and architectural heritage. We are situated at the foot of the Marlborough Downs not far from Salisbury Plain and surrounded by beautiful countryside, however we are also close enough to the M4 corridor and are in striking distance of Bath and Bristol.
