The Role

We are looking for an experienced small animal vet to join our team, we have We have full diagnostic capabilities such as ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, laparoscopic equipment as well as a recently installed CT scanner. This complements a team which included certificate holders in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, medicine, imaging and cardiology ensuring that we have a dynamic group which can support and help develop colleagues at all stages in their careers. We provide a supportive, caring and friendly network with regular social nights from ‘boozy lunches’ to ‘murder mystery nights!’

We have a small animal position available for a vet with at least 1 years experience.

We are also looking for a large animal/mixed vet to join us. MRCVS only please.

About the Role

As a Lead Surgical Veterinarian, you will play a key leadership role within our surgical department, managing a diverse surgical caseload while mentoring veterinarians and nurses.

Key Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of general surgical procedures.
Examine, diagnose and treat small animal medical and surgical patients.
Administer and prescribe medications, analgesics and anaesthetics.
Interpret pathology, radiography, ultrasound and other diagnostic imaging.
Manage complex surgical and hospital cases.
Provide clear treatment plans and communicate effectively with clients.
Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records.
Mentor veterinarians and veterinary nurses in surgical techniques and best practice.
Participate in the ongoing growth and development of the surgical department.

About You

You will have:

Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent).
Eligibility for registration as a Veterinary Surgeon in Western Australia.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in small animal medicine and surgery.
Strong soft tissue surgical skills.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Desirable

Postgraduate qualification in surgery, diagnostic imaging or ultrasound (MANZCVS, GradCert or equivalent)

Our Location:

We are in the South East of England, with excellent transport links. Stansted Airport is one hour away by car and Central London takes 1.5 hours by train.

Our practice is within a village called Weeley and the accommodation is a 10 minute drive away in seaside town Clacton-On-Sea. From the flat you can see the sea and to reach the beach you literally cross the road. Sarah chose to buy a car soon after arriving, however you can also get around by train or bus with stations/stops near both the accommodation and the practice.

Admin time is booked out for phone calls, lab reports etc and you get an hour's lunch. You can expect great support from a fabulous, experienced nursing team, a happy bunch of receptionists, and a highly capable Practice Manager.

The finer details...

Our working day is 8.30-6pm, and the successful candidate will be expected to take an equal share of the on-call rota for weeknights and weekends (currently 1 in 6, working the Saturday until 4pm and having the following Monday off in lieu). We have night nurses on site at Nurture Wells 24/7 for inpatient care, and there is a private, recently refurbished flat on site for vets to use if needed. The role will also involve some day shifts at our 'satellite' practice in Weston-super-Mare (which we run as a stand-alone clinic with it's own theatre, lab, imaging, dental suite and laparoscopic equipment, we just don't hospitalise pets there for overnight or ongoing care).

Salary from £40,000 - £60,000 DoE, benefits include 5 weeks holiday (plus your birthday day as an additional day off), sick pay, discounted pet-care, and lots of cake, biscuits and out-of-work social events!

Wood Veterinary Group are looking to recruit a motivated Small Animal Exotics focused Vet to join our progressive, well-equipped hospital, situated on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds with excellent motorway transport links.

We are a large, RCVS Accredited Small Animal Hospital and Emergency Services Clinic with an expanding dedicated team of 19 Vets. The role is based at our recently refurbished main hospital, which boasts state-of-the-art facilities including 4 theatres, imaging suite, dental suite, CT, an in-house Laboratory with dedicated technicians providing advanced diagnostics and the support of a team of Vets and nurses with wide ranging clinical interests (including various certificate holders). We have a varied and well established caseload of exotics clients and patients and we are seeking an exotics focused vet to support and grow the exotics side of the business further.
