What would my work pattern look like?

We are a progressive RCVS accredited practice based in beautiful south-east Cornwall, with our main clinic at Liskeard, and branch surgeries in Looe and Torpoint. After over 120 years of looking after the local animals, both large and small, we became a small animal practice in 2017. Our clinical director Tom loves surgery and mentoring, he’s already trained 5 vets up in laparoscopy and alongside our other vets, often undertakes more complex surgeries including orthopaedic procedures like TTAs and fracture repairs, as well as soft tissue procedures including BOAS, diaphragmatic or perineal hernias and lap assisted gastropexies and biopsies.

Our other clinical director Ben holds a certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice.

Erin and Niamh are our Vet GDP Advisors and actively supports our new grad vets. Niamh is also studying for a surgery certificate.

About the Area:

Liskeard is a beautiful market town, full of independent shops, cafes, pubs, and fantastic architecture. It’s also a great hub from which to explore Cornwall, due to its prime location between the stunning countryside of Bodmin Moors to the north and the dramatic Cornish coastline to the south.

We enjoy getting together outside of work, whether we go to the beaches, take on an escape room or do something more adventurous like our recent visit to the Adrenaline Quarry water park. We also have practice events including our Christmas party, summer BBQ or our vets meetings /curry nights.

Whether you’ve only recently graduated or you’re an experienced vet looking to increase your skills and develop your own niche, we can offer you the supportive environment and guidance needed to flourish. Part Time Role – Suffolk-based

Role Summary

We have an opportunity for registered veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons to join our team of Level 3 Veterinary Nursing End Point Assessors.

This work will be on an ad hoc basis and booked as we require assessors, ideally tailored to fit in with existing employment.

Principal Areas of Responsibility

To be available for a minimum of 4 End Point Assessment days each year
To work from our offices in Elmswell, Suffolk IP30 9HR
To have experience with Veterinary Nursing syllabus
Remain current with CQ products, services, policies and procedures and be able to apply all in the context of EPA
Remain current with regulatory requirements (RCVS, Ofqual and QiW)

Overall Duties

Attend and undertake End Point Assessment when booked by CQ to be held in our Elmswell, Suffolk offices.
Utilise the stated assessment methods to undertake assessment of the apprentice’s competence and knowledge against specific standards and plans
Ensure all activities are in line with CQ policies and procedures
Ensure a robust, valid, reliable and fair assessment process is delivered
Mark all components of the End Point Assessment in line with the grading criteria and guidelines
Undertake CQ training on a regular basis in order to standardise quality and consistency
Promote CQ values
Take an active role in all team activities to ensure full compliance with agreed safety, quality and environmental standards and expectations
Understand the CQ Data Protection Policy and Procedure and adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998 and subsequent GDPR

Skills

Professional qualification held for at least 3 years
Have an understanding of apprenticeships with the relevant occupational / industry standard and knowledge
Proficient IT skills to use MS Office software to be able to complete the documentation
Accuracy and attention to detail for completion of the documentation
Be able to prioritise, plan and organise your time for the day

Time Commitment

Assessment days will be booked with you for up to 7 students a day
Each professional discussion takes 45 minutes
Lunch break is unpaid and has to be taken for at least 30 minutes after 6 hours

You will receive the perfect blend of pace with a higher number of calls during spring but quiet spells during the summer months allowing you to really maximise your downtime. Work life balance - one week on, one week off

Here at Priory Vets, Cardigan we are looking for a Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly farm and equine team (we could facilitate applicants looking for 100% farm). You will also be partnering with Steffan Vets so will have access to a varied team and equipment – a very exciting time.

You would be involved in caring for a range of farms, with a good mix of beef, dairy, and sheep, and we run a smallholder’s club to look after the increasing number of non-professional farmers in our area. You will have the chance to gain experience in looking after goats, alpacas, and pigs, and we have a wide range of equine clients if that is an area of interest too.

Rota patterns that work for you

We are happy to accept both full/part-time applications, working between 8:30am-5:30pm, which occasional earlier starts or finishes which would be agreed in advance with our clients. There is a 1:5 weekday and weekend on-call rota, with our Vets getting the Monday off following a weekend on call.

The Rota:

The role and you

Our ideal candidate will be experienced and confident with routine neutering, procedures and emergency and critical care. Although not for large portions of your overall rota, you’ll also be confident in periods of sole charge.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our growing team of four Vets at Alcombe Vets. The position can be tailored to suit you, with either a mixture of consults and surgery.

Case continuity is actively encouraged within a well-equipped clinic permitting cases to be thoroughly worked up in house. The practice

Matt is also very passionate about the development of his team so highly encourages all his colleagues to undertake training, so you will be given a generous CPD allowance and the opportunity to have certificates funded!

As a consult only vet you will see mainly cats, dogs, small furies and the opportunity to do some exotic work should you wish. We also work closely with a local hedgehog charity.

The successful candidate will have a client-focused approach with enthusiasm for general clinical veterinary practice. A minimum of 2 years’ experience is ideal, with certificates always welcomed and encouraged, but not essential.

Our practice owner, Dr Judith Archbold, is an Advanced Practitioner in small animal surgery, and opened Totton Vets4Pets in June 2018.

As well as Judith, you’ll also be joining an exceptional team of 2 full time veterinary surgeons, 2 RVNs, 2 SVNs and 3 receptionists with our nurse team having a combined experience of 50 years!

Judith’s multiple certificates including a certificate in emergency medicine and surgery as well as in soft tissue/orthopaedic surgery certAVP(gSAS), puts us in a unique position to offer a varied case load and learning experience. We have orthopaedic equipment on site and are open to investing in further equipment, depending on our vets’ skills sets and interests.

Our days are well structured with consultations between 9am-12pm with ops in between, lunch and then consultations again from 3pm with the last consultation at 6pm with the intention for everyone to leave on time when the practice closes at 7pm.

Ideally this is a full-time role to support the growth of the practice, with flexibility for shorter hours considered if required. Typically, this role would be full-time worked over a four-day week, between 9:00am and 6:30pm plus Saturdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm on a rota basis. No out-of-hours requirements will be needed.

The practice provides a spacious, light and airy perfect working environment with a surgical theatre, and a prep room, and all the usual gadgets including digital xray,(dental radiography at our main branch), multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring machine, ultrasonography (Inc. Doppler), endoscopy, ECG. Additionally, we have a comprehensive in-house laboratory (microscopy, haematology, biochemistry as well as Idexx Catalyst for in-house results fast. ISFM cat friendly clinic and RCVS Accredited. We have a good ratio of registered veterinary nurses also with cert holders in ECC, anaesthesia, Feline Nursing, and behaviour.

Based in an excellent location close to the M6 and M5 motorways, within easy access to Birmingham with its train links and the rest of the country as well as two nearby airports. Birmingham is known for the amazing Bullring and Grand Central shopping centre with diverse high-street fashion & household shops. With a fantastic nightlife scene, great restaurants, attractions, arts and culture and areas of natural beauty, you’ll have everything you need on your doorstep.
Our staffs Wellbeing is of great importance to us, and there are several mental health first aiders in our group who are very approachable and are always there to support you both professionally and personally.

We are also a big part of the community sponsoring the towns junior football team and visiting local schools to talk about working in a veterinary practice. We are looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic, and skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our small yet busy team at Alder Veterinary Practice. The successful candidate will be confident in all first opinion duties and comfortable with sole charge on occasion. You will join our well-established team of three Veterinary Surgeons. The role is varied and includes daily consults and surgeries, caring for our very loyal and friendly client base. This position is split over two sites in Bourne and Spalding, with 75% of your time spent in Bourne; however, this is negotiable depending on your requirements and personal circumstances.

A bit about us
We have two well-established surgeries in the Lincolnshire market towns of Spalding and Bourne, each with a loyal client base spanning over 20 years. We are located near the historic town of Stamford, home to Burghley House, Burghley Horse Trials, and Rutland Water. Peterborough is approximately half an hour away, offering direct train lines into London.

Both practices are equipped with digital radiography (recently upgraded to a DR system), ultrasounds, an endoscope, and in-house blood testing equipment. We also have spacious theatres and consultation rooms for our varied first opinion cases. Our Spalding branch has recently been refurbished to a high standard, and our Bourne branch is next on the list!

Our friendly team comprises three Veterinary Surgeons, four experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses, three Nursing Assistants, and a full team of Receptionists. We support each other and work together to provide the highest standards of client and animal care. Our Veterinary Surgeons always discuss all care options with clients to ensure they make informed choices, and we work closely with various referral practices to offer additional options if required.

This veterinary receptionist's main role is to greet our clients and manage their visits to make it as pleasant as possible. The receptionist's role is also to perform a variety of administrative tasks and provide customer care. Some of their responsibilities include:
Client care. Scheduling appointments, confirming appointments, and sending reminders. Preparing and maintaining client records, including noting concerns to be addressed by the veterinarian. Answering phone calls, responding to emails, and communicating with clients about their pet's health. Collecting payments for services and medication. Monitoring inventory and assisting with purchasing medical supplies. Keeping the reception area, waiting room, and client bathroom clean and organized, as well as helping rest of team. (Separate cleaners come at night but this is for minor happenings during the day).
Providing basic client education and literature about their pet's medical condition
Handling client complaints and escalating them to the appropriate person if necessary. Assisting with patient care, such as feeding and holding patients.
Other tasks: Accepting mail and other deliveries, ordering office supplies, and preparing examination rooms.

Full training will be given but some client care/ hospitality experience appreciated.

This is a full time position but we are a very flexible family orientated practice! Shifts are between 8 AM and 6 Pm Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays 830-1230.

Buchananvets is a friendly, independent, dedicated small animal practice in south Manchester. One branch is based in Timperley and the other in Baguley. To help us continue providing the best possible care, we are looking for a fifth vet to join our amazing, supportive team due to one of our vets going to travel the world! We are an RCVS practice standards GP practice and a nurse training practice. Veterinary Surgeon Role - Full or Part Time, West Sussex.

We are looking for someone with a great sense of humour, a lover of the hot beverages and cakes, has respect for the amazing job everyone else in the team does and happens to be an experienced veterinary surgeon.

(Ok you don’t have to have a drink every time but for those of us who like to show kindness with gifts like a cuppa, it can make us feel wonderful. Or say yes and make a joke about never drinking it (not through lack of time I hasten to add!). )

We’re a group of people who like coming to work to see each other to take care of some animals with their owners. We focus on marking our work environment a great place to be and have dedicated clients who respect our honest opinions and the things we recommend to keep their pets in optimum health.

Our practice was purpose converted with two consulting rooms, centralised prep, theatre, dog ward, cat ward, imaging suite (x-ray and ultrasound), dental suite (sorry no x-ray here yet, we’re working on it!), dedicated pharmacy room, lab with Idexx machines and a staff room.

If you’ve got this far, here are the bones of the role:

- 3.5/4 full days 8:30-6:30 per week with a protected hour for lunch.

- A share on the Saturday morning rota (9-12).

- No OOH.

- 6.6 weeks holiday including bank holidays
