Veterinary Surgeon required at Budget Vets in Newport

Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon, with experience, to join our vibrant, fun branch in Newport. We are a genuinely special and bonded team, with a great deal of talent being nurtured. We are hoping you will fit in to our colourful team and be willing to take on some teaching and mentoring of younger vets. We see an incredibly interesting range of cases - 'the weird and the wonderful!' Led by a great Head Nurse, this branch is our main branch and we strive for a healthy work life balance and no blame culture. Full time would be 4 day week and 1:4 Saturdays, but part time applicants will definitely be considered.

About Us

You would be working with fairly large and experienced team of vets and nurses. We have one orthopaedic vet and one vet working towards their surgery certificate. We pride ourselves on great new-grad training and we have 3 incredible vets in this branch who we have had since the start of their promising careers. We would like the candidate to continue helping us with this project to help grow the next generation of talent. A brilliant location on the M4 and 30 minutes from Bristol, we are also situated near the Brecon Beacons and in easy distance from the pretty towns of Abergavenny and Crickhowell. We have brand new ultrasound, digital radiography, Idexx laboratory, tonometry, bair hugger, diathermy, capnography and ECG.

Applicant Requirements

We can consider full or part time candidates for this role, but we do want someone cheerful, fun and vibrant to fit in with the attitude of this branch and our colleagues who work here. Being willing to train other vets is vital - we love sharing the knowledge at this branch! The candidate needs to be happy with routine neutering and consultation. We are able to provide training with ultrasound and more advanced surgical procedures.
