Great oppurtunity in high quality supportive practice
The County Veterinary Clinic
SA VETERINARY SURGEON
100% SA independent practice, Taunton and Ilminster, Somerset.
We endeavour to provide a very high quality service to our great clients and their pets. We are a kind, friendly and supportive team of ten and we like to have fun at work.
VN training practice, RCVS accredited, comment at last inspection: “clinic is well designed and equipped, vets and nurses practising a high standard of veterinary medicine and surgery across a wide range of conditions.”
We are superbly equipped including digital x-ray, ultrasound, multiple flexible and rigid scopes, dental x-ray, monitoring, in house lab etc. In-house and visiting specialists; we need to refer very little. We have great support staff including 4 RVN’s; most have been with us many years.
We are really sad to be losing Emma after 2.5 years but are hoping for lots of photos and postcards from her travels around SE Asia with her partner (hopefully without coronavirus).
We would love someone who is as kind, caring, funny, enthusiastic and loyal as Emma - hers are difficult shoes (uber cool) to fill.
Ideally 2-3 years’ experience minimum , but commitment, enthusiasm and compassion are more highly valued, and we would welcome and support a more recent or new graduate with these attributes.
If your idea of fun is hour upon hour of back-to-back 10 minute consults and repetitive neutering then this is not for you. If you like having time to spend with clients and patients and time to think and work up your cases, then get in touch.
We share our non-onerous on call (check our call logs) with another practice. We all enjoy work but we also like our time off, our clients are sensible and appreciate the “emergency” aspect of the service.
We are located in a great area, particularly for bringing up a family. Excellent schools (state and independent). Great mix of town and country, near the Quantock and Blackdown Hills, Exmoor and coast also close by.
Every sort of club and activity (sporting or otherwise) is available; there is so much to do locally. The area is very popular with other professionals, many legal firms are based here, large teaching hospital and lots of military families. Transport links are excellent, 1hour 40 mins by rail to central London, two airports within 40 minutes, M5 motorway is five minutes away.
Ideally full time, however happy to consider part time as we know what it’s like working and having young children or other commitments.
Salary would be commensurate with individual skill set and working pattern, plus cpd, pension, health club membership etc.
