Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team. You will share all aspects of general practice including surgery, clinical investigation, diagnostics, consultations, and out of hours duties on a rota basis. Our full-time surgeons work four weekdays, with one weeknight on call each week, as well as 1:4 weekends on call (including Saturday morning consultations). We are very willing to consider flexible working patterns for part-time candidates. Salary range £35,000 - £45,000 (pro rata for part-time).

About Us

We are a well-established small animal practice in Somerset, with our main premises in Taunton and a smaller branch in the nearby town of Wiveliscombe. Our practice is fully equipped for small animal first opinion work, and we are constantly improving and upgrading our clinical facilities to provide the highest standard of care for our patients. We are also very fortunate to have a wonderful and engaging client base.

Taunton is a thriving town within easy reach of the coast, as well as Exmoor and the Quantocks, whilst also being conveniently placed for access to the M5 and nearby cities of Exeter and Bristol.

With an emphasis on integrity, communication, and kindness, our dedicated team of six vets, five RVN's, and twelve support staff all work closely together to provide exemplary care for our patients and clients. As a team, we believe in actively supporting and encouraging each other to build confidence, develop skills, and pursue interests in a calm and professional environment.

We work with many local and national charities, including doing some work for our local RSPCA wildlife centre and holding events to raise funds for a variety of causes. Our team members also take the time to engage with our community by giving talks at local schools and holding open days.

We are happy to consider qualified candidates with all levels of experience whether you are just finding your feet in practice, returning after a break, or simply looking for a new challenge in an engaging and supportive environment.
