Job Description

Veterinary Surgeon with a focus on dentistry
Holmefield Veterinary Clinic, Brayton
Up to £75,000 DOE, Welcome bonus up to £10,000 (pro-rata) and up to £5,000 relocation support

In addition to being involved in all aspects of care for our small animal patients, as our dental lead you will play a crucial role in providing top-notch dental care for our beloved animal patients. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional who is committed to improving the oral health and overall well-being of animals. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about dentistry in the veterinary field and wants to make a significant impact on the lives of pets. At Holmefield Vets we already perform dental work to a high standard and have adopted a staged approach to our cases. We are looking for someone to continue to drive dentistry forwards, take the lead on more complex cases, train and support our team and engage with Quality Improvement. You will work closely with our other vets, benefitting from outstanding nursing support across the board in our recently extended and upgraded premises with a great range of equipment.

Rota patterns that work for you!

We offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle. Whether you are looking to flex your rota hours to balance the school holidays, fixed hours to navigate the school runs or just looking to strike that balance between home and work life. We can offer flexibility that actually works for you. A full-time role is based on 40 hours but we also welcome part time applicants as well.

Find a place to thrive

Holmefield is a friendly and long established 100% Small Animal practice with an experienced and long-standing team. The Clinical Director Louise has been at Holmefield for almost 30 years and saw practice here during her studies! Holmefield Vets is situated in a beautiful semi-rural location in North Yorkshire, whilst still being well connected to city life. There are regular direct trains from Selby to London, Manchester and Leeds and there is also a train station at our branch practice in Sherburn-in-Elmet. We are just a 20-minute drive from York, Leeds and Hull are within striking distance too.

Facilities include:

- Dental machine – IM32 GS Deluxe
- Dental x-ray – IM3 revolution 4DC
- digital x-ray
- a brand-new ultrasound suitable for both abdominal and cardiac scans
- K-laser – Companion animal laser machine
- multiparameter monitoring machine
- doppler blood pressure.
- Separate kennels and cattery

Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what the team members have to say!
“I started at Holmefield as a work experience student at the age of 14 in 2008, then joined the team after leaving school. I then completed my veterinary nurse training and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in June 2015. I developed a keen interest in diabetes after one of my own cats developed the condition and I saw first-hand the difficulties owners can experience in caring for their diabetic pets, so I now run nurse diabetic clinics to share my experience.”- Emily Knight, RVN
