Job Description

Small Animal vet required for progressive 7 vet  small animal independent practice in delightful Warwickshire. We have all the latest equipment and an excellent team of vets nurses and lay staff to help you deliver the high standard of care we like to give our clients and their pets. Let us help you grow as a professional  with our experienced staff, and benefit from our wide range of interests. We have two Certificate holders (Surgery and Endoscopy) and  1 studying (Opthalmology).   We have no on-call, a 40 hour week ,  a weekend rota of 1 Saturday in 3 , and 1 Sunday in 6, with appropriate full days off during the week. Generous CPD allowance , with plenty of in house CPD as well. We split our day into three 8 hour shifts (8-4,10-6, 11-7) at Rugby, with each vet operating at least twice a week, (with mentoring if wanted), and occasional sole charge at our Warwick surgery which are 10 hour shifts (a back up colleague is always available). We offer clinical freedom and like to offer our clients a bespoke service for their pets that suits their needs and situation. You will have  the ability to follow your own cases (back up always available on request). We have a strong welfare ethos  to care for any animal brought in to us, be they a wild bird or a stray pet, and are enthusiatic supporters of local animal charities.   For the Surgical minded we have a wide range of kit to help with your job, with a Harmonic Scalpel, Surgical laser and K-laser, Full laparoscopic spay set up, a wide range of  orthopaedic equipment, and  theatres with patient warming, ventilator, capnography/multi parameter monitoring.  We also have a full range of rigid and flexible videoscopes to examine every orifice or organ and the necessary tools or laser for surgery – and a  surfeit of interesting cases.  For the medically minded  we have a full in house lab with the latest equipment including  laser haematology, handheld point of care (EPOC), coagulation measurement, infusion pumps, high end full colour Doppler ultrasound, digital x-ray, ECG  and blood pressure monitoring and  of course excellent nursing staff who provide fantastic care to our patients , with separate cat/dog/exotic wards and separate isolation facilities.   Generous salary  according to experience (£30,000 - £50,000),  28 days holiday, uniform (scrubs) provided, and a warm welcome to those who would like to join us, be they experienced or a new graduate.  We are happy to mentor and bring on new graduates.
