Small Animal Vet

Dacre House is an independent, established clinic with an excellent reputation, serving the local community for 40 years. We strive to provide a high standard of veterinary care whilst remaining affordable and approachable.

We are a busy first opinion practice, well-equipped with laparoscopy, ultrasonography, up-to-date lab, digital radiography and caring, competent staff. Our main clinic has two consulting rooms and two operating theatres. We also have a branch clinic which we currently only use for consults but we have just built brand new operating facilities which we hope to have up and running soon.

The successful candidate will be joining a really friendly and experienced team. Our 11 vets range from recent graduate to 30 years qualified with a low staff turnover. We have an internal medicine certificate-holder and another our of team is about to complete her certificate in feline medicine. We have 3 qualified RVNs and 2 student VNs. Our nursing team is confident and well-trained, providing brilliant practical support but also encouragement and humour. Our reception and admin staff are, again, experienced, professional and fun to work with.

We are looking for an enthusiastic vet with a minimum of 1 year's UK experience. This is a full-time permanent position. There's no on-call work as we use Vets Now (5 minutes away) for our out-of-hours provision but we do care for our own inpatients (where appropriate), so applicants need to be prepared to participate in our inpatient care rota - one weeknight late check (around 11pm) each week and one weekend inpatient checks (between 8am and 11pm) in every 5 weekends.

The clinic sees a broad range of presentations and we enjoy discussing our caseload, sharing ideas and working through the trickier cases together. We actively encourage CPD and support our staff in pursuing certificates and developing their own interests. We are a nurse training practice and we also regularly host EMS
students, some of whom have gone on to work for us.

Tunbridge Wells is a popular town, surrounded by countryside, with lots to do. We are a short walk from a mainline train station, within easy reach of Gatwick airport and the coast.
