This is an exciting opportunity suited to a motivated and experienced vet. You will be leading a friendly team of one other veterinary surgeon, one veterinary nurse and a receptionist. Practice facilities include digital x-ray, lab equipment, prep area and equipped theatre. You will be exposed to a varied and interesting case load in our clinic.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years UK small animal practice experience and confident working sole charge occasionally. You must have a client-orientated approach and excellent communication skills, work to a high standard both medically and surgically and have drive and ambition to help develop this practice further. The Newtown area forms part of the breathtaking Welsh countryside with ample opportunities for active outdoor pursuites and close proximity to the coast.
This role is full time working 39 hours per week over 4 days giving you great work/life balance.
Salary & benefits:
Salary up to £65,000 dependent on experience
Accommodation allowance £5,400
Vehicle or vehicle allowance £2,500
CPD allowance of £1,500 plus 3 days CPD leave
BVS, VDS, RCVS fees paid
5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays

As well as our in-house services at Medivet Newtown, you’ll also get access to all the services available across the entire Medivet group.
The practice is a 10-minute walk from Pool Road which has various shops, cafes, supermarkets, lots of places to eat and much more. Our Newtown branch is very accessible with Newtown train station a 10 minute walk from the practice and only a few minutes’ drive from the main roads.
Our Shrewsbury 24 hour practice is 40 minutes drive - allowing the team to support Newtown.
