2 vets for single site independent small animal vets in Louth, Lincs

Job Description

We need two vets to start ideally mid-March to work in a single site small animal practice in Louth, Lincolnshire.

Louth, the capital of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty, has houses still below the national average, excellent schools including a grammar school, easy access to Lincoln and Grimsby with shopping and the universities and colleges. Louth is also known for the foody small speciality shops as well as markets and fairs through the year making it a very easy place to live well and to set some roots down.

The practice has a good client base and is well equipped with lab machines, endoscopy, ultrasound, x-ray etc. Consultations run from 8.30 am-11am, surgeries and investigations to about 14.00, a break until 16.00 to finish 18.30 weekdays. Appointments are flexible and if quiet, we encourage a workup with the client present. We have Saturday consulting 9.00 - 12.00 and we share our out-of-hours commitments with the neighbouring practice in Louth so although the practice is responsible for 2 nights per week and 2/5 weekends, with three vets this works out 1 night every 2 weeks, 1 weekend in every 6 -7 or so weeks.

We offer a 4 day working week for vets doing OOH rota, can offer a two bedroom flat above the surgery for nominal rent, senior vet for mentoring, help and support to take vets through PDP and we prepared to help fund CPD towards special interests. Salary ranges from £30000 (1 year qualified) to £50000 p.a. for experienced vets, working towards further qualifications.

Our clients expect us to care, to try and to talk and as we independent, we can tailor the bill to include a cpd element if needed. As a result we still get to do a lot of things that seem to be disappearing from first opinion practice.
