Job Description

Site specifics 

Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a veterinary surgeon to join our well established not-for-profit surgery in Tingley. The surgery is located inside the College of Animal Welfare, is accessible just off the M62 and works closely with our Dewsbury surgery, which provides full routine and emergency care to patients 24/7. 

At Animal Trust our surgeries are well equipped with the latest industry standard technology meaning your working environment will provide you with an exceptional set of toys, including; X-Ray, advanced ultrasound and orthopaedic services. Across the Animal Trust network, we have access to expertise including; in house CT scanning and hip replacement meaning, you’ll continually be progressing your skills and growing your knowledge.

Core Skills 

To be successful in this role you’ll have a social heart, be highly skilled and keen to progress your technical capability. You might be an experienced vet or a new graduate looking to elevate your career, but it's important that you’re a real team player that enjoys the buzz that comes from working in a fast-paced and busy environment. 

Animal Trust Tingley provides routine consultations to pets 5 days per week and our nearby Dewsbury surgery operates routine and emergency surgery 24/7. 

You’ll share our vision for working within a not-for-profit environment and you’ll be keen to work as part of a highly skilled and experienced team who are all committed to providing the highest standard of care to owners and their pets. Our new Vet will also have; 


  • Excellent technical capability
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with clients during stressful and upsetting situations
  • Strong organisation skills, open, honest and trustworthy 

 Job particulars 


  • 4 days per week / one day off per week.
  • Potential for weekends carried out at our nearby Dewsbury surgery — operates 24/7 



  • Salary scale £31,156 — £47,047
  • 6 weeks holiday, including bank holidays
  • UK and International CPD funded to certificate level
