Veterinary Surgeon Required at Barton Lodge Veterinary Centre
Here at Barton Lodge Veterinary Centre we are looking for two enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeons to join us on a full-time and part-time basis. The responsibilities will involve consultations, vaccinations, medical and surgical workups, and treatment of cases.
The rota allows for a good work/life balance. The full-time role will be 40 hours per week and 20 hours per week for the part-time role. The hours worked are Monday to Friday 8:00am – 7:00pm and includes a day off. The Saturdays are worked 1:2 full-time, or 1:4 part-time from 8:00am – 1:00pm. We are closed every Sunday and Bank Holiday.We are a host practice for Vets Now, which provides great continuity for our friendly and loyal clients but also frees you from out-of-hour duties.
The salary for this role is between £40,000 to £50,000 DOE
Barton Lodge is situated within easy walking distance of Hemel Hempstead town centre. We are close to a lovely park and the town offers a variety of facilities close at hand.We have a high level of modern equipment including an in-house laboratory, video endoscope, tonopen, ECG, digital X-Ray, an MyLab 25 Gold E-SAOTE ultrasound scanner and dental X-Ray, separate cat and dog wards and all our rooms are air-conditioned.Currently we have 4.5 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 3 Receptionists and 2 Office Staff. CPD is encouraged and well supported with an excellent CPD budget and additional staff benefits. The development of specific interests is encouraged and supported including study to certificate level. We do sponsor local charity events.
A successful candidate would need to have good customer care and effective communication with clients and colleagues in order to deliver a high standard of patient care. MRCVs and general practice experience are required for the roles.
