Practice Type: Small Animal Practice
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Posted on: 21 Jul 2021

Veterinary Surgeon required at Avenue Vets, Grantham.

Job Description

The Role
We have an opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon with experience or a new graduate to come and join our lovely team here at Avenue Veterinary Centre. The 'normal' day of a vet in our practice is a varied mix of consults and surgery equally shared amongst the team, so everyone gets a fair share of surgery to build their skill set. We have a small branch practice in a nearby village which is serviced by a single member of the vet team and a receptionist every day so a visit to this site once a week adds variety to the week. Details of working days/hours below.
• 4 Day week (8:30am – 6:00pm)
• 1:3 weekends (not sole charge)
• OOH 1 night a week on call
• 1 night a week on back up

About Us
Avenue Veterinary Centre is a traditional SA practice in the lovely market town of Grantham. We have the most amazing, supportive, inclusive team and we are looking for a new member to join us. We have excellent transport links to London and beyond. Our main practice is fully equipped with digital x-ray, dental machine ultrasound scanner, multiparameter monitor, Bair hugger and much more. With a forward thinking and ambitious team, we are always looking to upgrade and invest in equipment and the practice. We do our own OOH so there is plenty of opportunity to build experience and skills in ECC.

We have 9 vets when at full strength and a very strong 6 nurse team. The team is very diverse, welcoming and supportive with a strong emphasis on fun and pizza. The team is keen to keep up to date with developments in the veterinary industry and lunch and learns are a frequent occurrence as well as 'Bake off' days. Participation is completely optional, but samples are always worth trying.

Applicant Requirements
We are such a diverse team we can accommodate either a new graduate looking to build on their skills and experience or someone with an existing skill set who is happy to support and encourage our less experienced members of the team. Willingness to join the OOH rota is essential.
