Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a full-time experienced small animal vet to join our first opinion practice. We are located in the beautiful seaside town of St Andrews in Fife, with 2 branches in the local area. We are a friendly, enthusiastic and dynamic team which consists of 6 vets, 6 nurses and 6 receptionists. The practice is purpose built and well-equipped with high standard facilities including 2 surgical theatres, dental suite, digital and dental x-ray, endoscope, new Imotek ultrasound machine and in-house lab. We are a cat friendly clinic- Gold standard award.

40 hour week, can be worked over 4, 4.5 or 5 full days depending on candidate preference. A duty shift each week will involve being on-call for the night nurse for any advice, this occurs infrequently though. NO OOH work. 1 in 5 Saturday day shifts, including the Friday duty shift. A positive work-life balance is supported and encouraged and all breaks and shift patterns are protected and maintained. Salary and benefits include: competitive salary, 5 weeks annual leave, birthday leave, VDS and BVA fees paid, £1200 CPD allowance, regular vet meetings and full team meetings, further study and career progression supported and encouraged.

Ideally at least 2 years in clinical small animal practice. Certificate holders encouraged to apply. The candidate needs to be fully competent in all areas of first opinion small animal work. They must be able to work sole charge at main site and in branches, including unassisted surgery, dentistry, diagnostics and consulting. Team and client communication are a priority skill requirement. High standard of animal care and welfare is our mantra. MRCVS.
