Job Description

Looking for a change and a place that’s genuinely great to be?

Welcome to Natterjacks – where our team are really at the core of what we do, providing a great service to our clients.

Joining our team in Poole of 9 friendly and capable vets, with an experience range from new grad to 20 years plus, working alongside our team of truly excellent nurses, ANAs, and receptionists. Natterjacks is located across two sister sites in Bournemouth and Poole, where we emphasise having fun at work and believe in having a great quality of life, with easy access to the Jurassic coast and all it has to offer.

Why Natterjacks?

Our team makes our practice special, and we really believe we have one of the best (not biased at all…)!

We have a diverse client base with a varied caseload, with certificate holders in diagnostic imaging, exotics and rehabilitation, as well our own in-house orthopaedics service, we have something for everyone! We are well equipped, even having a CT scanning suite here in Poole. We are continually investing in new facilities to provide our team with the opportunity to develop. We would support any ambition to specialise and would fund all necessary training, as well as certificates.

To top it all off, we are truly proud to have recently been awarded a 3* world class accreditation by Best Companies, the highest standard for workplace engagement! We are very proud of our team and all we achieve.

While some experience is preferred we’re happy to consider a vet at any stage in their career, with VetGDP mentors at each of our sites to support New Graduates.

While this is a full time role, we will happily consider applicants looking for a part time role, just get in touch to discuss your needs and we’ll see if we could accommodate you.

What about the area?

Situated in beautiful Dorset, one of the most idyllic parts of the country, the Bournemouth & Poole area has lots to offer, meaning plenty of options for enjoying yourself! It boasts miles of beautiful coastline for enjoying high energy water sports or leisurely walks, stunning countryside, super shopping facilities, nightlife and a multitude of dining options to suit all tastes.

There are great links to motorways and public transport, London is easily accessible, with a direct train line.

Poole has ferry services to the continent and Channel Islands, while Bournemouth has its own international airport too.

What would my work pattern look like?

  • Full-time (average 40 hours per week, but see below re part time opportunities)
  • 4 weekdays per week (one with a 4pm finish) and 1 in 4 Saturdays
  • No OOH’s, no Sundays, no on call, no sole charge and no Bank Holidays. Wahoooooo!

We mean what we say – work/life balance is key to our team having a great quality of life. So if you’re a vet looking for a part time role; let’s see if we can make life at Natterjacks work for you? We’re also more than happy to have a consulting only vet join us, so if surgery’s really not your thing that’s not an issue for us at all.

Sounds intriguing; what do the benefits look like?
