No OOH - Join our friendly & supportive Small Animal Hospital team
Full/part time veterinary surgeon vacancies - BEDFORD
Come and join our friendly & supportive Small Animal Hospital team.
I qualified 7 years ago from Edinburgh then moved from job to job before finding Scott Veterinary Clinic. I finally found the practice where I can settle down, are you searching for this? One of our experienced vets is pursuing a surgical career so we are looking for a new team member.
We are an Independent Small Animal and Exotics practice with RCVS Hospital Accreditation. We provide our own OOH and have a large loyal client base. The main hospital is in Bedford with 2 small satellite branches in Wixams and Sharnbrook. We have all the facilities you could want – hydrotherapy on-site, endoscopy, and dental x-rays to name a few.
We currently have 14 vets, 20+ Nurses (a mix of RVNs and student nurses), and a dedicated reception and administration team. Our 3 clinical directors provide a fountain of knowledge and love to share their skills. We have AVP certificate holders in Cardiology, Imaging, Medicine, and our Head Exotic vet is an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Zoo & Wildlife Medicine.
You will be fitting into the “middle tier” of our dynamic veterinary team. This means you’ll have the benefit of experienced senior vets and directors to help from above, and the option to assist with mentoring and assisting our younger vets and new graduates. This can be a full-time or part-time position, spread over 3, 4 or 5 days per week, plus 1:4 weekends, and no OOH work.
With real career progression prospects, access to certificate holders and Specialist knowledge, and a large dynamic team, why not? You will experience a diverse and interesting small animal caseload and have exposure to exotic medicine and surgery. We support each other, encourage case continuity, have daily rounds and regular journal clubs for case discussion. If this position interests you – you will expand your range of skills rapidly within our supportive and caring veterinary team.
Salary and benefits
The salary ranges from £33,000 to £44,000 (pro rata) and will be commensurate with experience and additional qualifications. We offer a generous annual CPD allowance, BUPA healthcare (corporate scheme), discounts on pet insurance, gym membership and professional veterinary fees.
Where we are
Our well equipped main hospital, based in the County town of Bedford, has great road and rail links to London, Cambridge and the North. We also have 2 satellite branches (consults only) based in the local villages of Sharnbrook & Wixams.
