Veterinary Surgeon required at Alexander Vets
We have an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team here at Alexander Vets. We are a well-established and popular small animal practice who work to the highest standards. We see various caseloads enabling you to split your time evenly between consults and operations with medical and clinical freedom to work up your cases as well as sole charge work. We can see a fair amount of dental work as well as cases with patients with arthritis and hyperthyroidism enabling regular case work ups with our IDEXX lab station. We have a visiting cardiologist Ben Griffiths that comes when more complex cases arise and means our vets can be more involved to build their knowledge and skillset in this area.
We fully encourage and support you to pursue additional certificates, so if there is a cert you have your eye on or even in the midst of – let us know and we will be happy to support!
Our standard hours are 38 hours per week over 4 days plus 1:3 Saturday mornings but we are happy to tailor this to your needs and could consider various aspects of flexible working patterns, there is also NO OOH with this role!!
Our people are at the heart of everything that we do, that’s why we know that work-life balance is vital in supporting our people to be their best selves. Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that truly flexes with you and your lifestyle no matter what stage you are in your career.
Based on the outskirts of the Lake District, we are close to some of the most scenic views the country has to offer. If you love the great outdoors and want to escape city life, this is a great location for walking, photography, water sports, hiking and adventure sports. We recently benefitted from a practice refurbishment, so we are modern and well-equipped. Our practice boasts x-ray, ultrasound, laser therapy and in house blood facilities. We have a loyal client base which helps us provide detailed work ups too!
You will join a team of 3 vets with a wealth of clinical experience, 2 RVN's, a SVN, a kennel assistant, a receptionist and Practice Manager. We also work very closely with our sister site so there is a great support network in place with lots of opportunity to learn.
We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from –
