Job Description

Looking for an adventure and wanting to escape COVID,  BREXIT and travel somewhere safe?...

A unique opportunity has arisen for a unique clinician in the Cayman Islands. We are a young 100% SA clinic of 2 vets looking to increase to 3 vets, with a compliment of 5 nurses (soon to be 6) RVN’s offering advanced level hospital care and surgery, as well as a popular mobile service. We are a small but technically advanced, newly modelled clinic, that is expanding rapidly. The position would suit a general all-rounder with high standards, 5 years experience in first opinion and/or referral positions, with good surgical skills and a medical bias. We offer the freedom to realise your veterinary potential whilst truly embracing the relaxed Cayman lifestyle. Our clients are lovely and their pets are very much a part of their family, cost restrictions with care are rarely a concern allowing you to work up cases appropriately and satisfactorily. It is a great community to be part of especially in these troubling times.

  • An attractive remuneration package is offered, along with a relocation allowance.
  • A car will be provided.
  • A work Permit is required to work legally in Cayman. Guidance and assistance to apply for this along with registration with the local veterinary board will be given.
  • 40 hour week based at the clinic (performing surgery or consults) or as the mobile vet.
  • Mobile would entail a weekly excursion with nurse assistance, providing a more bespoke level of service whilst seeing the island and glimpsing Cayman’s                      often luxurious lifestyles.
  • An equally shared after-hours (on demand) night and weekend cover is required (1 in3)
  • A minimum 2 year commitment would be anticipated.

If you would like further information regarding the position offered, please get in touch by email to [email protected] with a covering letter and CV.

Interviews will be by Skype/Zoom/Face Time and likely at the weekend or late in the day, due to time zone constraints. To see who we please visit our website and social media pages or for island information is an excellent resource. Candidates with families would be welcome, however consideration for additional expenses for private education and healthcare fees should be noted, along with relocation considerations as Cayman does not support a government funded benefit system.

If you have been in the industry for a while, aspire to good quality medicine, are dedicated, have a great bedside manner and looking to refresh yourself and your professional outlook whilst achieving a sustainable balance in life, we would love to hear from you.
