OOH Veterinary Surgeon required at St Georges Vets - Wolverhampton

Job Description

The Role

We are looking for an OOH Veterinary Surgeon to join the St George’s family! This is a sole charge out of hours role working 7 nights on and 7 nights off on a 1 week in 4 rota, alongside a small team of a RVN, an ACA and Receptionist. The OOH service looks after our 6 branches plus 13 other local practices. It can get quite busy, however, there is a duty flat with an opportunity to have some sleep on most shifts as our experienced ACA will be on duty and awake all night. There is room in the hospital kennels area for up to 20 cases at one time although the average is usually 5-10. This is a great opportunity to be involved in interesting emergency cases such as GDV's, Cesareans, Pyometras, surgical investigations as well as medical cases. This is a full-time position; however, we are open to part-time applications.

About Us

The St George’s family consists of 20 Veterinary Surgeons, 30 Nurses, 2 cert holders and more mid study - over 7 sites. We have a hospital based In Wolverhampton equipped with CT scanner, in-house blood machines, digital x-ray, ultrasound, capnography and dental x-ray and a network of 6 branch surgeries, providing first opinion services.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with a proven record of out of hours experience.
