Salary up to £40,000 FTE pro rata depending on experience

Would you like to work only on Saturdays? 

Haughley and Thurston Vets have partnered with Cedarwood Vets to look for a consult-only Saturday Veterinary Surgeon. We are looking for someone who is considering either a return to work or a reduction in hours to improve their work life balance or to fit around family life. It would be ideal for someone who wants to be consult only as any surgical cases can be transferred to the other half of the partnership, and the other vet would also be available to discuss any concerns or worries although the role is sole charge. 

About the rota

We are looking for someone to work Saturdays only. This is a shared role with Cedarwood Vets. The candidate would work one Saturday with Cedarwood (8.30am-12:00pm) then one Saturday with Haughley and Thurston (8:45am-3:00pm).

Both practices have been established in the area for a long time and although competitors regularly help each other out. There is a wide range of equipment available across the sites such as DR X-ray, Vetscan Imagyst, Dental X-ray, ultrasound, and scopes. Both practices have in house blood machines and work with VPG for external samples. 

At our Haughley site, we have 3 experienced Cert holders and 1 recent grad vet, along with 6 RVNs, 2 SVNs and 6 support staff.

Our three sites; Needham Market, Haughley and Thurston are all situated along the A14 between Bury St Edmunds at Ipswich, with access to trains to Cambridge and London. We are also within easy access to the countryside, beach or town centre all within half an hour.
