Poultry Veterinarian - Full-time, permanent, for an RCVS registered vet
Poultry Vet - Poultry Health Services, Sheriff Hutton, N. Yorkshire
We have an exciting opportunity to join us at Poultry Health Services -one of the largest specialist commercial poultry and game bird practices in the UK.
No previous experience in poultry is required as full training and support will be provided so this role could be ideal for a vet looking for a change in career direction or a new graduate, for which we can offer an internship.
About us:
Poultry Health Services was founded in 2018, and Sheriff Hutton is our main practice with 6 other bases country wide plus two in house laboratories and a biosecurity company within the group.
Our core work is with commercial poultry farms supplying eggs and meat to supermarkets. We also work for poultry genetic companies and offer consultancy to a number of bodies including pharma companies and research institutions.

The Role:
This is a full-time, permanent role, for an RCVS registered vet, based at our main Sheriff Hutton practice just north of the beautiful city of York.
Working hours are 08.30 – 17.00 Monday to Friday with 1:4 weekends on call after training.

Training and Development:
We are a large, friendly and supportive team. Our experienced vets have a range of post-graduate qualifications and areas of expertise, and you will be allocated a mentor who is VetGDP registered.
Your career development and growth are important to us and CPD is actively encouraged, with at least one international CPD per year. At Poultry Health Services we support applicants that wish to undertake further qualifications.

A little about our team:
At our Sheriff Hutton practice our fabulous team comprises of 9 Vets and 3 Administrators. We work collaboratively and get together for monthly clinical clubs. We’re also a sociable bunch and even participate in an annual 26-mile charitable walk - it’s not mandatory so feel free to bring the refreshments!
The Area:
We are situated in a beautiful rural area approximately 7 miles north of the historic city of York that provides a multitude of things to see and do. There are the many famous tourist attractions, plenty of restaurants, bars and shops and a good night life. Plus, York boasts ample facilities for sporting enthusiasts, a university and a horse racing course.
The beautiful North Yorks Moors are a stone’s throw away, and the East Coast is easily accessible. Travel links are good with nearby access to the A64 and A1(M). York is also well connected by train with regular services from major cities across the UK – London can be reached in under 2 hours.
