Mixed Veterinary Surgeon required at Seafield Vet Group
Seafield Veterinary Group, Keith is looking for a mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. Though we would be interested in speaking to applicants interested in small or large animal only. The caseload is approximately 40% Farm animal, 5% equine and 55% small animal, offering the opportunity to build up experience in all disciplines whilst working with more senior Vets in each area.You will be involved in all aspects of mixed practice initially involving routine small animal consults, all basic surgery, farm and equine first opinion calls with opportunity to develop skills in any area of interest such as fertility, diagnostic imaging, herd health planning and lameness etc.
We are flexible and can offer a 4/5 day week, 40 hours is considered full time but we are open to applicants looking for part time.The role would include being on the large animal out of hours rota, this would currently be a 1 in 5 and we are looking to grow this further, support can be provided out of hours initially if required.
Seafield Vet Group is based across 3 sites (Keith, Banff and Buckie) each with good facilities including a full Idexx lab suite, new and updated ultrasound allow you to work up cases to a high level internally. We deal with large animal work to a high high standard with a proactive approach, fertility work and a strong base of pedigree and commercial stock, predominantly beef and sheep with the occasional goat! We also have a strong small animal client base with minimal exotics.The practice is a very short distance from the stunning Moray Coast, an hour from the Cairngorms National Park and Aviemore for those hill walking and snow sports enthusiasts.
It's a long way for friends and family to come visit? There are now regular internal flights from Inverness Airport to Bristol, Luton, Manchester, Birmingham, Gatwick and Heathrow as well as servicing Dublin (a connection to the rest of the world!) and Majorca. The equidistant Aberdeen Airport has an even greater offering.
Currently we have 12 Vets with around 8 Full Time Equivalents, and a team of 6 Nurses supporting our small animal Vets.
