Mixed/Farm Vet required at Glenshane Vet Clinic in Maghera, Londonderry
We are looking for a Mixed/Farm Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. You will either be on routine or emergency call out/TB test or SA consult/ops (mix vet only), fairly divided between all participating vets. If you are on call that night you will get a break. If you have worked the weekend you will be off a long weekend, either Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon. Full time and part time applications considered. Salary £29,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
We are a 3 branch practice, in the middle of the Sperrin Mountains, 40 min drive from our stunning North Coast, 40 min from airports and 40 min from Belfast or Derry City life. At 2 branches, we have farm animal crush and pen, in the main branch all the usual toys for both farm and sa practice: easy-scan/SA ultrasound, idexx lab station, microscope, x-ray, endoscope, ECG, kennelling/stabling facilities, small ruminant operating table and a horse stock.
Our team is made up of 8 vet’s, 3 of which have 20+ years’ experience in farm, SA and Equine. 1 vet has 10+ years farm vet experience - these 4 vets are the backbone of our surgery. All 4 vets have been with Glenshane Vets for 10+ years. We have 2 x 2019 grads (previously EMS student at our clinic) and 1 x 2020 grad on the Grad Academy. We have an enormously dedicated nursing team including 2 RVN's and 3 SVN’s as well as a great support team made up of 8 fantastic people.
We are looking for a team player with a passion for either mixed veterinary or farm veterinary practice. The applicant with experience will get all the support to develop their interests. The new/recent grad applicant will get all the support to develop experience.
