Expert vet surgeons to score x-rays for our Hip/Elbow Dysplasia Scheme

Job Description

The Canine Health Schemes, established by BVA and The Kennel Club, work with expert veterinary surgeons to offer health screening for a number of known hereditary conditions.

We are looking to appoint expert veterinary surgeons (scrutineers) to provide technical expertise and advice, and score/grade radiographic images according to set criteria for our Hip and Elbow Dysplasia Schemes.

Applicants must:

  • have either a DSAO or a DVR equivalent;
  • be a BVA member;
  • have regular current and relevant radiological experience of hip dysplasia and elbow dyplasia conditions and their implications for breeding;
  • sign a contract for services and abide by the instructions and guidance given by BVA;
  • be responsible for their own indemnity insurance and complete a tax declaration;
  • after a period of training have flexible availability for scoring/grading sessions either at BVA or, when necessary, remotely.
