Since 2004 i've been promoting 'Intelligent Wound Care' a philosophy which simply aims to encourage informed, logical decision making for clinicians with specific reference to modern dressing methods and the growing range of advanced wound management products as applied to veterinary practice. I set up the Veterinary Wound Library in March 2008 as a resource for Vets and Nurses which offers free dressings and one to one advice for challenging cases in practice. www.vetwoundlibrary.com
I'm a keen and active follower of human developments and actively seek to place the best of human wound management into a veterinary perspective. A member of EWMA (European Wound Management Association) and an honorary member of CITER (Cardiff Institute of Tissue Engineering and Repair).
My principle aim:To enable vets and nurses to access independent, evidence based information on wound management technologies specific to animal use and to overcome the comparatively low level of commercial and research incentive in the area.
