A typical thyroid carcinoma in a dog.  This egg sized mass was managed surgically.  However large masses (over 100 cubic centimetre in volume) and those fixed to surrounding structures are candidates for surgery alone becuase of the high rate of metastasis and likelihood of surgical trauma.  Such cases should be offered adjunctive therapy (radiation and/or chemotherapy).
