Flexed lateral: 26 week old Labrador retriever
The fully flexed lateral view is most useful as it exposes the caudal border of the anconeus to view - this is the first place that osteophytes will appear in an arthritic elbow.
The humero-radial joint "space" is obvious, relatively wide and even, and merges imperceptibly thith the humero-ulnar joint.
Note the accurate superimposition of the two parts of the humeral condyle indicating good positioning.
Note the various physes which can make interpretation difficult.
