Cranio-caudal: 3 year old Labrador retriever
Note positioning with humerus and antebrachium aligned and proximal humerus bisecting the supracondylar foramen.
Although this patient has a very low grade OA secondary to a fragmented medial coronoid process, this radiograph is normal.
The first radiographic sign of elbow OA is the appearance of osteophytes on the caudal border of the anconeus. It is not until rather later in the development of the disease that we start to see any changes on the cranio-caudal radiographs.
