A barium meal given by gavage revealed an obstruction in the Large Intestine of this Hermans Tortoise which presented as a result of excessive straining and lethargy, A plastron osteotomy revealed an obstruction caused by ingested hair. The mass was removed and an enterectomy to remove devitalised bowel performed, The tortoise made a full recovery.
