This chinchilla suffered an electrocution injury to its right forelimb resulting in avascular necrosis of the distal limb. Chinchillas are prone to chewing through cables which can result in this type of injury. The limb was successfully amputated. Chins tolerate forelimb amputation well and this patient went home with a lesson probably not learned....
