Right parasternal short axisThe view is optimised to show the pulmonary valve and artery. This shows a downwards turbulent jet of flow during systole arising at the pulmonic valve - confirming pulmonic stenosis. There is also diastolic upwards (red) flow arising from the pulmonic valves indicating some valvular regurgitation.
The above image is a continuous wave (CW) spectral Doppler tracing showing the speed of the blood flow through the pulmonic stenosis. The peak velocity is in excess of 5m/s and thus classified as severe.
