Dr. Colin Macaldowie has been elected President of the
Sheep Veterinary Society
at the Society's autumn meeting in Exeter. Colin succeeds Paul Roger who becomes Senior Vice-President. Sam Mansley from Animal Health was elected Junior Vice-President.
"The sheep industry is undoubtedly facing extremely challenging times as we struggle to respond to the twin threats posed by FMD and Bluetongue. However even in these darkest days it is vital that everyone focuses on supporting each other and remaining as optimistic as we possibly can about the future” said Colin. “The Sheep Veterinary Society and its members will endeavour to assist in this process wherever possible by continuing to encourage close cooperation between vets, advisers and sheep farmers to ensure that the highest standards of healthcare, welfare and research necessary for future sustainability are achieved.”
