Companion Care
, the UK’s fastest growing small animal veterinary care provider, has expanded its Wantage-based support office team with the creation of a new role of Clinical Director and a new Head of HR.
Christine Shield will start as Companion Care’s Clinical Director in November. This will be a part-time non-executive role which Christine will combine with her other work in veterinary practice and the industry. Christine is a Council member of both the BVA and RCVS but is possibly best known for her role as past President of SPVS.
Julie Miller has recently joined as Head of HR. Julie’s background includes operations management as well as an extensive portfolio of HR roles, including consultancy in the retail sector.
Companion Care Services Managing Director, Jane Balmain said: “These new appointments add new dimensions to our ever-expanding team, which will be focussing on driving the business forward from the 39 surgeries we have now. The Group is forecast to turn over in excess of £28 million this year, and is achieving annual like-for-like sales growth of 17%. We estimate that dividend payments to our 50 plus partners will total £1.5 to £2 million this year.”
