Dechra Veterinary Products has improved its 50 ml Somulose kit and released a new booklet “Guide to Equine Euthanasia using the Somulose 50 ml kit” to assist vets in administering the humane chemical euthanasia agent
Somulose®
The changes have been made in response to information which indicated that some users have been experiencing difficulty administering Somulose® at the correct flow rate.
Gwenda Bason, Marketing Director said “We listened to our customers concerns about the administration of Somulose® and we have now come up with a solution that supports customers and ensures they get the best results from using our product.”
Dechra have replaced the 16-gauge catheter in the previous kit with a B. Braun Braunula MT 14-gauge catheter. The new catheter will help users administer Somulose® at an optimum rate, thereby aiding a gentle collapse of the animal and calm euthanasia.
The new kits will be released to wholesalers shortly and will become available to vets as existing stocks of the current kit are exhausted.
Practices can obtain full details of the product and a copy of the guide by contacting Rachel Horton at Dechra on 01743 441 632.
