Radiological Assessment

  • The "ball" sits well into the "socket".
  • The femoral heads are evenly rounded and a narrow, even and parallel joint "space" (in fact the articular cartilage) can be identified.
  • The skyline of the femoral neck is free from irregularity - there is no sign of osteophyte formation.
  • The medial flattening of the femoral head is normal - the attachment of the Teres ligament.
