Clinical Director - Great team, Great practice, Great Location

Job Description

Clinical Director or Senior Vet – Elands Veterinary Clinic – Sevenoaks, Kent

Would you like to help our practice grow and improve?

We’re looking for a confident, dynamic, and people-focussed leader to become Co-Clinical Director or Senior Vet; to work with our team to help make Elands Vets the best we can be!

About us:

https://online.flippingbook.com/view/27982832/

We have very easy links for getting into London, with the perks of living in the countryside.

We are a practice who strive to always do the best that we can for our team, our patients, and our clients. We encourage the whole team to come forward with ideas to improve our clinical practice and working environment, so if you want to work in a collaborative and supportive environment, then we could be the practice for you. We are looking for a self-motivated Co-Clinical Director who can support current Clinical Director, Rebecca, to lead and drive the practice forward to the next level while helping the practice to continue delivering the highest level of care to our patients and clients.

We have excellent clinical facilities which include a state-of-the-art in-house lab which is supported with Zoetis Imagyst, ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, a range of anaesthetic monitoring machines, plus fully equipped for both rigid and flexible endoscopy.

We pride ourselves in performing primarily laparoscopic ovariectomies as standard, as well as offering laparoscopic cat spays, laparoscopic cryptorchid castrates and laparoscopic liver biopsies. We can offer this service for pets 1.5kg-75 – a much bigger scope than the majority of practices. We are keen for any new vets to learn this skill.

Elands Veterinary Clinic is proud to be supported by VetPartners, who enable us to invest in the practice and in our team.  Certificates are supported for those who want to go further into a particular area. Rebecca currently holds a certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, with a medicine bias, but is also a keen surgeon.

The Role:

  • Salary starting from £55-70k depending on experience.

Your role will involve clinical work, coaching and mentoring of colleagues, business strategy, planning and budgeting. Additional training and development is also available from the VetPartners Leadership Programmes. You will have responsibility for the clinical provisions for the practice and for driving clinical excellence, supported by Practice Manager Saija who is responsible for the non-clinical aspects of the management role and Head Nurse Emma Barty who provides excellent support for the clinical director. You will also have access to support from the colleagues in practice, as well as the Practice Manager & Area Manager during the current Clinical Directors maternity leave.

  • Full-time – 4 days per week (40 hours: 8.30am-7pm)
  • Participation in a 1 in 3 or 4 Saturday morning rota (time returned in lieu)
  • No OOH
  • Clinical Director admin time (1-2 days a week, flexible)
  • Scope for remote work at times

About you:

The successful candidate must be a confident clinician who has proven experience in clinical decision making, developing clinical team members, and appraising clinical provision. We are looking for a compassionate leader; who sees their success as that of their teams; the ability to communicate well with people and clients is essential, as is the ability to prioritise and delegate where required.

Package also includes:

  • Generous £1750 & 5 days CPD allowance (more if a certificate holder).
  • RCVS & VDS fees paid plus one professional membership of your choice (eg BVA/BSAVA etc)
  • 6.6 weeks paid holiday (including Bank Holidays)
  • Health Shield – wide ranging contributions for health and wellbeing treatments, from dentistry to sports massage
  • Enhanced paternity, maternity, adoption, shared parental leave, and surrogacy pay
  • Generous discount on veterinary fees
  • My Benefits – various discounts including retail & gym memberships
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Company sick pay
  • Annual pay reviews
  • Focus on employee wellbeing
