Join our supportive team at Leonard Brothers

Leonard Brothers Vets have an exciting new opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team! This is a fantastic opportunity for a Vet looking to join a supportive practice, working in whatever way they feel comfortable. We are happy to accommodate a consult-only role if this is your preference and you will have access to the expertise of experienced clinicians and advanced practitioners. We offer an excellent balance between consults and ops, with every vet having the opportunity to do both consults and surgeries in every shift worked. We offer 15-minute consults and insert catch-up slots in between to allow vets to catch-up if a consult runs over, to write notes, make phone calls, or to discuss cases with other vets.

Fix or flex – work life balance that work for you

We are happy to offer a very flexible working options working between 10-38 hours per week. Out-of-hours shifts are available in the evenings between 6:30 pm – 9 pm and at weekends 8:00 am – 5 pm, however, there are opt-out options. Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours truly tips the scale on your work life balance. We know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it brilliantly easy for you to strike the right balance. Whether you need to do the school pick up, need reduced hours during school holidays or would simply like a more flexible rota pattern we can fix or flex our patterns to suit you.

Here's what the team have to say

“I've been working at Leonard Brother's for almost 5 years after 18 months in mixed practice. Working here was one of the best decisions I've ever made. The team has always been very welcoming and friendly, management are approachable and supportive. I'm able to explore my interests, broaden my skillset and learn new things every day. The team has a diverse range of interests and skills, so there is always someone to ask for opinions on trickier cases and help during surgery. Our diary has a good mix of consulting and procedure time allowing me to work up my own cases and care for my patients in the way I would want for my own pet.” – Alex, Veterinary Surgeon

Our practice and culture

Our modern practice is equipped with fantastic facilities and we have a brilliant team. We are a training practice providing our staff with ample support to ease into the team and gain experience.  We have 12 vets, mostly working part time making use of the flexible rota pattern we offer, and an experienced nursing and support team. We have certificate holders in cardiology, medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, and diploma holders in general anaesthesia so we can support you and develop your skills. Additionally, two of our vets are currently busy studying their certificates as well. Our team get together for a meal and clinical discussion every two months. We have a good social life within the practice as well as great connections with local referral practices.
