A new colleague wanted to continue developping our new practice.

Job Description

Our new small animal practice in Totton, Hampshire  is growing fast. We are now looking for an additional vet to join this friendly team!
Our Partner, Dr Judith Archbold, is an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in small animal surgery, and opened Totton Vets4Pets in June 2018. Since then the practice has gone from strength to strength and her team now see a varied caseload including exotics.
At the moment the team consists of 1 vet, 2 RVNs, 1 SVN and 2 receptionists. A second vet will give us the opportunity to offer more consultations in the day, while maintaining clinical standards in all medicine and surgery cases.
The bright and spacious practice is equipped to do both routine and advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, as well as having state of the art equipment including digital X-ray / dental X-ray and in-house laboratory facilities. We have a visiting orthopaedic surgeon for certain procedures eg. TPLO; however routine orthopaedics is also performed in-house as well as some referral soft tissue procedures.
There is a separate staff room upstairs.
Totton is close to Southampton with easy access to the picturesque New Forest National Park, making it a desirable place to anyone wishing to explore both coast and countryside.
Person Specification
This rewarding position is flexible covering either full or part time hours and includes 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am-12 noon) but no OOH, and as the practice is closed on Saturday afternoons and Sundays, all colleagues can enjoy an excellent work/life balance. Successful applicants should be confident in an occasional sole charge role.
The ideal candidates will have good general surgical and medical skills and experience in emergency surgery.
  • Although part of a group, we run our practice with total clinical freedom on a day to day basis, with traditional values to encourage that "local vets" feel .... with the added support from Vets4Pets head office.
Benefits
Other benefits include:
  • Enhanced annual leave after 2 years service
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Generous CPD
  • Career development opportunities
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards – including 20% off at Pets at Home, The Groom Room and Vet Group as well as discounts with high street retailers
