Exciting opportunity for a small animal vet

Job Description

“I was fortunate to have excellent employers in my first job. I worked for people who cared about their staff, were passionate about doing a good job and enjoyed what they were doing. “ – John Remnant, associate clinical professor Nottingham University; Vet Record 16th February 2019

Would you like to work for these people too?

We are an independent, progressive, small animal practice based in beautiful south-east Cornwall, with a good, varied caseload and lots of happy clients and their pets. We have 8.5 full time equivalent vets with an average experience of 13 years, 8 RVN's and 3 SVN's.

We are looking for a full time vet to join our friendly and experienced team. We can provide a supportive environment for a recent graduate or there is scope for a more experienced vet to progress with their career and develop their own niche.

Our main practice is in Liskeard and we also have branch surgeries in Looe and Torpoint, which run consultations only. You will spend time in the branch surgeries on an equal rota basis.

We have an extensive range of modern equipment including laparoscopy/endoscopy, ultrasound, digital x-ray (including dental), diathermy and cutting edge anaesthetic monitors. We are also able to offer laparoscopic spays and TTA/TTAR's in house. This role would encourage the nurturing and development of new techniques, as well as allowing advancement of existing skills.

The equally shared OOH rota is based on 1:9, to include weekends. You are not required to remain at the practice whilst you are on call, just attend calls and inpatient checks as necessary.

CPD is actively encouraged and a generous CPD allowance is provided. You will also receive 34 days annual holiday and 5 days CPD.

Salary package starting from £34750 increasing with experience.
