WENDOVER, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE

Near Aylesbury but only 50 minutes into London by train

We are looking for a two full-time SA vets, one with exotics skills who want to be their clinical best in an environment that values individual pet care and excellent client care.

  • Sole charge only at branch and OOH but with RVN support and experienced vet and practice manager back-up.
  • Wendover Heights is a long-established friendly and busy mixed independent practice in the rural Chilterns with 16 vets and 19 nurses. There are separate SA and equine teams.
  • The practice is Tier 2 RCVS accredited with great facilities and a varied caseload including a high number of exotics (two vets have a particular interest).
  • Facilities include canine hydrotherapy, canine massage, pet shop and equine clinic.
  • Branch surgery is consulting only, 6 miles away in Great Missenden.
  • The standard working week is 4 days plus OOH, currently 1:8 nights and weekends with time off in lieu.
  • Normal working hours start with an early shift at 8am (6pm finish), most days 8.30am to 6.30pm with a late shift once every 2-3 weeks (11.30am to 8.30pm)
  • Each vet does half a day of consults (two blocks with a 30 minute break) and half a day of operating on most days.
  • Plus free lunches, staff dog kennels with daily walks in the woods and frequent social events!
