Beautiful East Yorkshire location.
Full time Vet for our Expanding Mixed Practice in East Yorkshire.
We are a 12 vet practice both our sites and equine ambulatory work are RCVS GP level certified and our main SA site is currently undergoing major refurbishment. This is part of our commitment to provide ongoing quality care for our clients’ animals.
We have dedicated dog, cat, exotic & isolation wards, and will have a cat waiting area. We use sevoflurane (with isoflurane for reptiles) and have digital x-ray; endoscopy; ultrasound; ECG; tonopen; orthopaedic drill set and in-house lab. We take out this equipment and have access to stabling when using them.
The position is rota’d 50:50 small to large. The large animal is predominantly (80%) equine and no dairy or TB testing. Equine work is ambulatory across beautiful East Yorkshire.
We work 8.30 to 5 for 4 days a week and until 1pm on the other. There is 2 nights on call/week. It is usual to get at least 1 hour’s lunch break. There is a 1 in 4 weekend rota which is quiet with the practice getting on average 1 call at a weekend and a couple in the week. Vets Now take the phones.
We believe that vets need to be intellectually fulfilled and so encourage and support colleagues to work up cases and develop their skills as part of a supportive team. We encourage and pay for UK CPD and also have regular in-house CPD meetings. We currently have two colleagues working toward RCVS Certificate plus one about to start. We are a nurse training practice.
Recent graduates would be supported and mentored especially in surgery.
Annual leave is 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
Salary will be according to experience.
