Job Description

Seadown Equine Clinic

New Forest, Hampshire

Require an experienced Equine Vet for a permanent position that has arisen as a result of one of our assistants moving on to an Equine Referral Hospital.

The Clinic is on the same site as our Small Animal Hospital and is part of the XL Vet Group. We have a 6/7 vet equine team and supported by qualified VNs, giving a high-quality ambulatory, and clinic-based service, to a diverse horse population and loyal clients within a supportive team atmosphere. The practice also supports a small holder community so an 'interest' in this type of work is and advantage.

Clinic Facilities/equipment include Treatment Room with on site stabling for in patients, knock down/ Operation facilities, Concrete Trout up, 35x20m Martin Collins arena, additional 15x15m hard surface standing arena, Video Endoscopes including Gastroscopes, Sonosite/GE Logiq ultrasound machines, Digital Radiography, Shockwave, and full in-house Laboratory. Dental instrumentation, power floats and dental video scope ensure easy and complete dental care with additional benefit of a visiting Orthodontic Surgeon.

We also provide and Equine Ophthalmology referral service to surrounding practices.

OOHs rota is shared throughout the team with generous time off in lieu. Flexible working patterns can be accommodated.

Certificate study is actively encouraged and supported, with 3/4 of our team having obtained Equine Certificates while with us and this position would suit someone with similar aspirations/qualifications.

Salary is commensurate with experience with certificates recognised; BEVA/RCVS fee; 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays on a pro-rate basis.

The New Forest National Park and Solent ensure the local area offers excellent recreational opportunities particularly equestrian, cycling, sailing and walking.
