We are after a fluticasone (Flovent) inhaler (110-125 mcg/puff) and are having a lot of trouble sourcing it. Europharm/NVS do not stock these, we obtained one form a human pharmacy

Re: Steroid inhalers and cat urinary catheters

What's wrong with Flixotide it contains fluticasone and is available from NVS?

Re: Steroid inhalers and cat urinary catheters

From the BNF

Evohaler® aerosol inhalation, fluticasone propionate 50 micrograms/metered
inhalation, net price 120-dose unit = £5.44; 125 micrograms/metered
inhalation, 120-dose unit = £21.26; 250 micrograms/metered inhalation,
120-dose unit = £36.14.

So with a small mark up/handling fee £33 sounds OK to me. The 50 ug/dose inhaler is cheaper per ug and less outlay although I've no experience of either.

Re: Steroid inhalers and cat urinary catheters

We give our clients a prescription to get the inhalers from a chemist. When I got one myself from a local chemist a last year I seem to remember it was nearer £50 around here.
