I've been out of practice, apart from a bit of locum work, and acupuncture cases, for about 7 years, but am getting itchy feet. I just wondered if you could do the course when

Re: Has anyone done the Logical Clinical Problem Solving RVC course?

Again I've done the 1st one and the follow up "more Logical clinical problem solving" . Both really good. I learned a lot. Took more time than I thought and you have to do certain bits by mid week and weekend each week. But that's helpful to keep you going and stop you falling behind. The format they use is very good to consolidate the reading.

I got the textbook through work as well. some weeks didnt have time to do all the recommended reading (tried to do some later) You could manage without the textbook but it's helpful for extra reading and very useful long term.

Re: Has anyone done the Logical Clinical Problem Solving RVC course?

I can also really recommend the course. Took up more time than I initially thought but well worth it. I goy a lot out of completing it and it changed the way I approached things in practice.

I think I'll look into getting it - I suspect my medicine books are a bit too out of date. I'm glad you thought it was useful - I could really do with a new approach if I'm going to get back into practice.

Re: Has anyone done the Logical Clinical Problem Solving RVC course?

The recommended text is Nelson & Couto, though you don't have to use that. They suggest what areas to cover in the textbooks and also give you journal articles to read. Sometimes they'll post the whole article or just the abstracts. I bought Nelson & Couto as I was in midst of Cert AVP SAM modules anyway so it was useful, but you could do the course with whatever your favourite medicine text is.

Re: Has anyone done the Logical Clinical Problem Solving RVC course?

Dd they supply the additional reading - was that online as well?

Re: Has anyone done the Logical Clinical Problem Solving RVC course?

Have done both the initial logical clinical problem solving and the follow on more logical clinical problem solving, both as the 6week eCPD courses. You do have to post cases to discuss but they always say if you're not working and can't access histories etc, that they will provide cases for you to post. Both were fantastic courses, really helpful, stimulating and changed how I approached much of the stuff I see every day. The course tutors were really involved. There is a lot of work- lots of background and additional reading, but I gained loads from doing it.

Sorry I sound like an advertising campaign... :-)
