Why would you put it up anyway? Cheeky sending unsolicited stuff...just so that vets can promote a product which the client can then go and buy with their sainsburys shopping every week. Much better to sell a vet-only chew like the Royal Canin or Virbac ones that they can't get anywhere else! I'm not promoting sales for Sainsbury's thanks very much!

Nah. You started (11 years old) in the Third, then the Fourth, then the Fifth, so the O level years were the Lower Remove and the Upper Remove, and the A level years were the Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth.

All this makes me feel an old fogey (well, I am an old fogey!). There was the exam at 11 years of age that determined whether you went to grammar school with education to the age of eighteen, or secondary school with education to sixteen. Four years in the "A' stream at grammar school took me to General Schools Certificate (GSC) with a minimum of five distinctions from nine subjects granting Matriculation exemption (which by then had lost most of its meaning) and then two years in the sixth form studying for Higher Schools Certificate (HSC) in at least three subjects appropriate for entry to chosen or destined profession (sciences, languages, arts - but no meejah studies then; KFC and MacD were unknown).

The masters and mistresses (in the academic sense) were an odd bunch in many ways. They ruled by stick or carrot or a combination but they knew their subjects and they made sure that we did too. We even grew to love some of them (the subjects, not the masters).

Fifteen years later I returned to the school as the university representative on the Board of Governors. They were fighting to keep open but, although the students seemed more mature and well rounded than I was, it was becoming obvious that these small rather elite schools had had their day. They simply did not have the wealth to provide the facilities that had become needed for modern education. Sad but a remnant of the past. I am glad that I went there but like some earlier posters I shed no tears when I left; I was going where I wanted to go and that was sufficient.

I seem to remember forms 1,2 3, 4 then L6th and U6th. There was no choice in what you discovered - it was boys or boys. My God how I hated that place - fagging, prefects, beatings, endlessly chasing stupid balls round a field (why ?), cross country , foul food.... happiest day of my life when I left !

[/quote] This isn't the time to back off! GCE O-levels were definitely 5th form UNLESS you were a "flier" and had jumped a year on the way - but even then it was still 5th form. Ah the days of proper schools.

I'm happily going grey and drive a Subaru Legacy, which according to Jeremy Clarkson (or it may have been the one with the hair) is the only car other than a Golf which doesn't pigeon hole you as to age or class I'll have you know, and I still ask my work experience students what they are doing for their GCE subjects in the fifth form!

I went to a school like that.... Surnames, Masters, Sir and standing up when they came in. big hats, gowns, rugby and speeches. Thats a proper school.

And don't pretend you used UCAS, You are clearly an UCCA man! You'll be using just for men next and driving a sports car.
