I agree with that. Congrats arlo. I, as a relatively new graduate come here for advice/ support when something goes wrong and its nice. I find it more helpful than dare I say the BVA new grad scheme which is aimed at helping us.

Congratulations Arlo, this website is awesome. Like others, I find it such a useful tool, for info, for healthy discussions, cpd, and just being in touch with other like minded vets. It has really made me feel more part of a very privileged group of people ie the veterinary profession than anything else has ever done. I'd rather pay my RCVS fee to you than the RCVS! I feel like I have a whole new bunch of mates. I love the fact that we each give each other support and ideas and I'd really love to meet up with all the regulars on here at some stage for a social. I also love the fact that you aren't a vet, and therefore on occasion give an 'outsider's' point of view- not that I think of you as an outsider at all- you are most definitely an honorary vet!

If you get a little box come up on the screen telling you that a problem has been identified asking if you want to do a scan / correct it do NOT click yes. It installs something (malware) that totally bu**ers up your computer until you 'purchase' software to correct it. This happened at home - big mistake! Same thing happened at work yesterday on my workstation so I knew not to click yes.

Sorry off topic but reminded me!

I have already complimented Arlo but did not say congratulations - I do now!!!

A massive computer crash has kept me off-line for a week; no roll-back, no restore, nuffin! Had to do a clean re-install in the end and during that time I really missed regular contact with vetsurgeon.org. which is on my daily 'must check' list.. It is possibly not realised by UK members that VSorg makes we OS members feel less isolated (and perhaps keeps our egos within limits). Contact and discussion with like-minded professionals is very important, so 'Thank You, Arlo'. Keep it going.

I'm constantly impressed by the site Arlo. I've been recommending all my vets become members as I think there is a lot that the profession can benifit from by using a site like this and with your broad membership this does seem to be the place to be.

Well, I'm always thinking of new opportunities, regardless. In fact, it does strike me that the membership is big enough to have some, for example, purchasing clout now. Perhaps there is something I can do to save you money, and make myself a few extra pennies at the same time.

In fact, my main plans are (without revealing specifics), diversification and world domination (probably in that order)!

Not sure what entity you mean by 'the profession'? BVA is doing it's own thing. Anyway, to be owned by one association I think would take away from the inclusive nature of the community, and the fact that it really is neutral (my company has no affiliation to anyone or anything).

Also, one of the problems is that with interest rates as they are, someone would have to pay quite a bit of money for these sites, i.e. in order for me to replace the lost revenue.

But I'm not in any great hurry to sell. I enjoy what I do!
