Sadly when I was asked about Devils Claw I was bored enough to look it up and even more sad there seems to be evidence that it is 'more effective' in man than a placebo as an anti-inflammatory perhaps an opening for Devils Claw-O-Vet. I spent five minutes of my one and only life discussing this with the owner. He seemed to know the dose which is more than I did at the time.

Not sure if it helped the dog as this would have 'wasted' another five valuable minutes of my life making a phone call. I am sure I will find out when the dog comes in for vaccination!!

(As you get older you start worrying about the numbers of five minutes left to you - that wastes another five minutes!).

Edit - time not wasted! - five minutes CPD!

Is this true? I use unlicensed products in a therapeutic context all the time.

If I were Mr Meacock or Mr Elliot I could charge for the consult and advise on the Devil's claw. Perhaps I should have stopped what I was doing and looked up and supplied their weekend contact details.

I wanted to say " **** off I'm busy." I suppose my inappropriate comments will come back and haunt me at some point.

20-50mg of the standardised harpagoside. I cannot believe this is not indelibly imprinted on your brain from 'pretty flower' lectures at college. Actually Devils Claw is a very uninspiring and ugly plant.
