How do you find them and/or do you just use historical values?

Re: X ray exposure callipers

Dunno why it's called a "calliper"; all you need is two rulers and a level eye.

Not posh enough for calipers KV = 40 + 1kv/cm MAS Will depend on several factors like ffd, film speed, grid etc. On ours 2.5 for limbs and cats 3.2 for larger limbs and 10-12.5 if grid present. And adjustments to exposures should be made on basis of 10% increase/ decrease in Kv or 50% in MAS. if you need a particularly fast exposure for a chest etc you can reduce MAS by 50% for an additional 10kv for a similar exposure though lacking in greyscale.
