The last few years there have been computers available to use with internet access in NIA and more recently ICC... having enough time to stop and use them is more of a problem!

Party night was worth the effort, the ventriloquist was amazing (loved the 'sound check' piece), and Michael McIntyre was good, but with some repeated jokes like someone else mentoned. It was a shame the bar was closed during the acts, especially as I got in at 8.30 on the dot and then had to wait just over an hour to get anything to drink (even just water after my mad sprint from hotel to party!)

For me.......

Michael McIntyre was good, but slightly dissappointing due to his over-exposure on TV and we knew many of his jokes before. Only on for about 25mins.

Paul Zerdin was amazing and side splittingly funny - I'd not seen him before.

The Countefeit Stones were alright, good to hear the auld tunes again.

The Feeling - I'd never heard of them (showing my age) but I had heard many of their songs! They were excellent, professional, the lead singer involved the crowd. I was impressed.

BSAVA did operate a waiting list facility from Registration in the Olympian Suite, and tried to communicate the Sell Out as soon as possible before Congress. First year tickets had sold out before the event even got started. 2000 attended Party Night. Early booking advised for next year - it is World Congress after all! Thanks to everyone who came along and made this year such a busy, buzzy event.

Well, I spent most of saturday (between lectures obviously!) hounding reps/friends/friends of friends/vague friends of friends for tickets to no avail for most of the day. Lots of the reps were lovely though, particularly Dan from Hills who was very helpful!

After a vague plan of attempting to get in without a ticket (was NEVER going to happen!) I was all dressed up with nowhere to go when I got a phone call at 8.25 (doors closed at 8.30) from one of the people I had text earlier in the day. Not only did he have a ticket for me, but it was a freebie :D, so all's well that ends well, but it was by the skin of my teeth!

Did you have any joy? I didn't - went around most of the stands on Saturday, no joy. Apparently there were a couple being given away early on Saturday morning, but after that none. A lot of the reps were saying they didn't even get to go because by the time the companies came to order tickets there were much less available than normal - Micheal McIntyre was just too popular!

Worth chatting to your drug reps nicely... they usually get a few to give away. You might get lucky.
