Does anyone else find the use of 12 pm to mean noon and 12 am to mean midnight puzzling? I&amp;#39;ve just seen it as a vet&amp;#39;s opening hours on the web( when do they actually mean?). &lt;p&gt;And another thing on a&amp;nbsp;similar theme was a request from DEFRA not to carry out a TB test before 31st November and that&amp;#39;s official ! Even better was a farmer client who had, on the same day,&amp;nbsp;two letters from DEFRA, one saying he would be under restriction if test not carried out by the 6th and one saying it must not be carried out before the 8th. &lt;p&gt;I have vague recollections&amp;nbsp;of a &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;very&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; short lived DEFRA form which was a triplicate, self carbonating&amp;nbsp;one which had to be filled in &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;on both sides!&amp;nbsp; &lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Sheer brilliance!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Getting more serious again folks, that &amp;quot;12p.m&amp;quot; and &amp;quot;12a.m.&amp;quot; nonsense irritates me like a flea bite on the waistband, because it just reveals such ignorance.&lt;/p&gt;
